SkipEntry is an AI-powered invoice data extraction tool built for bookkeepers, accounting firms, and small businesses. Upload a PDF invoice and get clean, structured data back in seconds — no templates to configure, no training required.
The product handles the tedious part of accounts payable: reading vendor names, invoice numbers, dates, line items, and totals from PDF invoices and turning them into data you can import directly into QuickBooks Online, Xero, or export as CSV and Excel.
Who built this
SkipEntry is built by Palavir LLC, a software consultancy founded by Josh Elberg. Palavir builds software tools for small and mid-size businesses, with a focus on automating repetitive back-office work.
The idea for SkipEntry came from watching bookkeepers spend hours every week manually keying invoice data into accounting systems. Template-based OCR tools helped with high-volume, single-vendor workflows, but they broke down when invoice formats varied — which is the reality for most bookkeepers managing multiple clients with dozens of vendors each.
Modern AI vision models changed what's possible. They can read invoices the way a human does — understanding layout, context, and meaning — without needing a fixed template for each vendor format. SkipEntry uses this capability to extract data from any invoice on first sight, then validates every extraction with math checks (line items sum to subtotal, subtotal plus tax equals total) so errors are caught before they reach your books.
Why this approach
Most invoice processing tools fall into two categories: cheap but inaccurate OCR, or expensive enterprise platforms that require months of setup. SkipEntry sits in the middle — accurate enough to trust with real financial data, simple enough to start using in minutes, and priced for independent bookkeepers and small firms.
Every extraction is math-validated. Discrepancies between line items and totals are flagged automatically. The side-by-side review interface lets you compare extracted data against the original PDF and correct any field with a click. The goal is not to replace human judgment, but to eliminate the manual typing that eats up your day.
